Saint John Vianney is the patron saint of parish priests. He lived in France and spent 12-18 hours a day in the confessional. He was constantly leading others into intimacy with Christ. Approximately 20,000 pilgrims would visit him each year because of his incredible gift of counsel and his ability to read souls. He used these gifts from the Holy Spirit to bring people closer to Jesus. Thousands of pilgrims a year reported miraculous healing from their visits with John Vianney. He was deeply devoted to Saint Philomena and would often attribute their healing to her intercession. He said that Jesus loved this little saint so much, that it was hard for Jesus to say no to anything she may ask of Him.
“When the heart is pure and simple it cannot help loving, because it has discovered the source of love.” - Saint John Vianney
